The land became wetter, with ferns & conifers dominating the landscape. Higher latitudes saw redwoods and ginkgo's gradually expanding with scramble ferns, bennettites, seed ferns, maidenhair, other conifers, and cycads filling the world with a colour and quality never seen before. Beetles, wasps and flies began to fill the air whilst newts and lizards took their first faltering steps.
